A lawsuit alleges a Granite City collision caused various serious injuries. The lawsuit claims this Granite City collision occurred on March 9, 2020.
The lawsuit and underlying accident is discussed in the July 2, 2021 Madison Record article titled “Driver alleges serious injuries in Granite City intersection crash.” An excerpt from the article, mentioning the plaintiff, Mari Crawford:
Crawford claims in her suit that she was driving her vehicle on Illinois Route 3 near the intersection of Rock Road in Granite City on March 9, 2020. She alleges Brannan, who was approaching the same intersection in his vehicle, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and made a left turn into the path of her vehicle.
Crawford claims that as a result of the collision, she suffered injuries to her neck, back, chest and other parts of her body and has incurred medical treatment costs and suffered mental anguish.
As seen in the article, the lawsuit alleges various negligent acts were involved, including failure to yield, speeding, and distracted driving.
Additional details can be seen in the article.
There are many reasons that accidents can occur at intersections. These reasons are discussed on the “Intersection Vehicle Crashes That Result In Injuries And Fatalities” page.
One of these reasons – as alleged in the above Granite City collision lawsuit – is if a driver fails to yield and in doing so causes a collision with another vehicle.
Intersection accidents often result in serious injuries. Often, those who have been injured seek to get injury compensation if the accident was not their fault by filing an injury lawsuit. These lawsuits can seek various types of compensation. One of the primary reasons for filing a lawsuit is to get money for the past, current, and future medical bills that result due to the injuries. These medical bills can be significant, if not substantial, depending upon characteristics of the crash and injuries.
