Motorcycle accidents can occur for many reasons. As seen on the Southern Illinois motorcycle accidents summarized on this site, these accidents can cause injuries that range both in type and severity. Generally speaking, motorcycle accidents cause significant – if not serious – injuries.
The “Ways To Avoid Motorcycle Accidents And Injuries” page discusses ways that riders can minimize the possibility of being in an accident. An excerpt from that page:
Motorcyclists are vulnerable to serious injury during an accident due to many factors. Motorcyclists have very little if any “structural” impact protection if they are in a collision. As well, there is no restraint of the motorcyclist. Should the motorcyclist be ejected from the motorcycle – which is common during crashes – injuries will likely be serious if not life-threatening in nature.
Additional safety recommendations concerning motorcycle riding can be found on that page.
