Lawsuit Regarding Edwardsville Motorcycle Accident Injuries

Motorcycle accidents often lead to serious accident injuries for both motorcyclists and any passengers.  As seen in many Chicago area as well as other Illinois motorcycle crashes discussed on this site, a broad range of injuries can result from such crashes.

Many of these injuries, due to their nature, can lead to the motorcyclist and/or passenger requiring significant or substantial amount of medical care.  This medical care can be extensive, especially if the injury requires surgeries, extensive rehabilitation, or other types of ongoing medical care.

As well, other direct or indirect costs can occur.

While there are many reasons as to why motorcycle accident lawsuits are filed, a primary reason is to get compensation for medical costs and other related monetary factors, such as lost income due to the temporary or permanent inability to work (commonly called “lost wages.”)

A recent lawsuit in Southern Illinois concerns alleged injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident in Edwardsville.  The accident and lawsuit is discussed in the Madison Record article of January 5, 2018 titled “Motorcycle rider alleges injuries from Edwardsville rear-end collision.”

An excerpt from the article:

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 23, 2016, he was riding a motorcycle on Route 159 in Edwardsville when he was rear-ended by a pickup truck being driven by Gray while he was in the course and scope with his employment with R. A. Gray.

The plaintiff alleges he sustained injuries to numerous parts of his body and was caused to endure pain and suffering and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff alleges Gray failed to keep the vehicle under proper control, failed to maintain proper lookout and failed to stop or reduce speed to avoid striking plaintiff’s motorcycle.

Additional details regarding the lawsuit can be seen in the article mentioned above.
