“Hit & Run” Pedestrian Accident In Murphysboro

There was a pedestrian accident on Friday night (November 25, 2016) in Murphysboro.  The pedestrian accident was a “hit & run” accident involving two pedestrians.

The accident happened as two people were walking on the shoulder of Airport Road, near Bodkin Road.  At 7:19 p.m., a westbound vehicle struck the two people, and then the truck continued driving.

One of the pedestrians was taken to a hospital for treatment of accident injuries, and was later flown to a St. Louis Hospital.   The injuries were considered to be life-threatening in nature.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrians was described as either a 1997-2003 Ford F150 or Ford Expedition, with a missing passenger side mirror and likely damage to the front passenger-side headlight and/or turn signal.
