Fatal Pedestrian Accident In O’Fallon

There was a fatal Southern Illinois pedestrian Tuesday afternoon (September 8, 2015) in O’Fallon.

The accident happened shortly before 3:44 p.m.  According to the O’Fallon Police Department, the accident involved a school bus, carrying children, striking two pedestrians who were walking westbound along U.S. 50, just east of the intersection at U.S. 50 and Scott Troy Road.  At the time of the accident, the school bus was also traveling westbound.

The victims have been identified as Dal Mager, 45 and Junu Rai, 36.  Both Mager and Rai were transported to SLU Hospital where Rai later died. Mager remains hospitalized.

This fatal Illinois pedestrian accident is under investigation by the Illinois State Police (ISP) Accident Reconstruction Team.
