Fatal Motorcycle Collision In Highland

There was an Illinois fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday (June 9, 2015) in Highland, Illinois.

Details regarding the accident – and especially its causes – appear to be limited at this time.

According to Highland Police, police arrived at the accident scene shortly before 2:30 p.m.  The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and a U.S. Postal Service truck at St. Rose and Iberg Roads.

The motorcyclist was identified as Gaylon D. Parker, 69, of Wood River.  He was declared dead at the accident scene.

According to the Madison County Coroner’s Office, Parker died of head trauma.

A passenger, Parker’s wife Donna, was injured in the crash.  She was transported to a local hospital, and then to a St. Louis hospital.

The driver of the postal truck, identified as Sandy L. Vosholler, 48, was also hospitalized.
