There are many types of vehicle accidents as well as vehicle accident injuries.  These vehicle accidents have happened in various locations.  Occasionally, there have been Illinois vehicle accidents that have occurred in parking lots.

The December 10, 2014 Madison Record article titled “Madison County jury rules for plaintiff in Walmart parking lot injury” discusses a jury verdict regarding accident injuries that occurred in a parking lot in Wood River, Illinois.

The underlying accident happened at a Wood River Walmart on December 1, 2010.  The plaintiff in the case, in which the trial was held on December 8, was Charles Foster and the defendant was Jennifer Byrd.

An excerpt from the Madison Record article:

Foster claimed that he and his wife were walking through the parking lot of the Wood River Walmart toward the store entrance on Dec. 1, 2010, when Byrd struck him as she attempted to back her vehicle out of its parking space. Foster was knocked down.

Because of the accident, in addition to his severe injuries, Foster alleged that he suffered pain, lost wages, lost his enjoyment of life and experienced suffering and disability.
