There was a crash in Pope County on Illinois 146 about 1 mile west of Golconda, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident happened at approximately 12:27 p.m.
This crash involved a 2007 Chevy truck that hit an Illinois Department of Corrections van that had been stopped by a work zone “flagger.”
Due to the collision, multiple people – including eight inmates in the Illinois Department of Corrections van – were taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the truck, identified as Brian T. Doll, 49, of Wingo, Ky.

Doll was charged with using an electronic communication device while driving and failing to stop for flagger in a construction area.
