When Trexler slammed on his breaks, the trailer began to jackknife and the semi entered into the westbound lane of the highway. A 2010 Dodge passenger car driven by Melodie Rushing, 56, of Rockwood traveling in the westbound lane, collided with the rear axle of the semi. Extensive damage was done to both vehicles.
