Fatal Vehicle Accident On I-55 In Litchfield, Illinois

There was a fatal vehicle accident today (October 25, 2013) on Interstate 55 near the Mt. Olive exit, in Litchfield, Illinois.

According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), a 2002 Ford van “rear-ended” a 2002 Chevy Impala that for reasons unknown had either substantially slowed or stopped on I-55.

As a result of the accident, one adult and two children died at the accident scene.  As well, at least four other people were injured, including the drivers of both the Impala and Ford van.

Those who died at the accident scene were identified as Alea Shannon, 27; Alfredo McGee Jr., 8; and Armondo McGee, 2.

The driver of the Impala was identified as Alfredo McGee, 31.   The driver of the van was identified as Senad Hodzic, 26.
