Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Randolph County

There was a Southern Illinois fatal motorcycle accident in Randolph County on Monday (September 9, 2013).

The motorcycle accident happened at approximately 12:15 a.m.  The motorcyclist was westbound on Ridge Road, at about .4 mile west of Hillcrest Drive, when the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve.  According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the motorcycle left the roadway, struck an embankment, and entered a beanfield.

During the course of the accident, the motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was identified as William C. Gyon, 54, of Sparta.  He died during the course of the accident.
