Hit & Run Bicycling Accident In Southern Illinois

There have been charges filed in the hit & run bicycling accident that happened last week near Cahokia, Illinois.  The boy hit while riding his bicycle, Fabian Teason, 9, later died at a St. Louis hospital.

An excerpt from The Republic article of July 19, titled “Teenager charged in southwestern Illinois death of 11-year-old boy on bicycle” :

Prosecutors in St. Clair County on Thursday charged 17-year-old Kevin Powell of Washington Park with reckless homicide and failure to report an accident involving a death.

He’s also accused of obstructing justice by destroying evidence, driving without a valid license, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
