Fatal Three-Vehicle Accident In Carbondale, Illinois

There was a fatal three-vehicle accident in Carbondale, Illinois on Sunday afternoon that resulted in the death of an SIU student and injured three other students and two associate professors.

The accident happened at the intersection of Chautauqua Street and McLafferty Road at 1:43 p.m.

Details on the accident appear limited.  However, it is being reported that the traffic accident involved two cars and a motorcycle.

The student killed has been identified as Kenton James Barrick.  The three students injured have been identified as Courtney Hamilton, Zachary Valent, and Jessica Kay Allee.

The two associate professors have been identified as Jay Needham and Wago Lee Kreider.
