There was a fatal vehicle collision Monday (May 13) in Energy, Illinois. The collision happened on Illinois 148, near the intersection of Grand Ave.
A car being driven by a woman was traveling southbound on Illinois 148 when her car collided with a pickup truck attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Grand Avenue.
The woman who died following the accident has been identified as Pamela G. Martin, 45, of Murphysboro. She was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The man driving the pickup truck has been identified as Zachary A. Nuss, 18, of Carterville. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
According to the Energy Police Department, Nuss was cited for failure to yield while turning left.
The accident remains under investigation.
