Fatal Car Accident In Randolph County, Illinois

There was a fatal vehicle accident Saturday in Randolph County, Illinois.

The man who died following the accident has been identified as Jarrod Abernathy, 43.  He was ejected from the vehicle.

An excerpt from thesouthern.com article of March 12, 2013, titled “One dead in crash” :

Jarrod Abernathy, 43, was pronounced dead at 8:22 a.m., about an hour after the crash on Shawneetown Trail, north of Chester, Randolph County Coroner Randy Dudenbostel said.

Abernathy was driving on Shawneetown Trail when his car left the roadway to the left and came back onto the road before going off the road on the right side.

The car then struck a ditch and overturned several times, according to a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office report.

As seen in the article, a passenger was also injured and hospitalized.
