There was a fatal car accident on Tuesday (February 26) today on Illinois 54 in Logan County.
According to Illinois State Police, the woman killed was Alberta E. Reiterman, 70, of Mount Pulaski, Illinois.
An excerpt from the February 26 The State Journal-Register article titled “Mount Pulaski woman killed in crash on Illinois 54” :
Alberta E. Reiterman was westbound on Illinois 54 just west of County Road 1100 near Cornland when her vehicle crossed into the opposite lane at 7:19 a.m.
Her vehicle went off the roadway into a ditch, where her vehicle traveled 184 feet before striking a tree and overturning, state police said.
She was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The accident remains under investigation.
